Topic: Favourite Coheed and Cambria suite Posted: January 08 2008 at 19:29 |
I was wondering what the people preferred for the two suites that ended Coheed and Cambria's last two albums: The Willing Well from Good Apollo I or The End Complete from Good Apollo II
I personally prefer the End Complete, but I think that many of their best songs are contained within both suites.

They're both excellent in their own ways, and they both kick the crap out of Coheed's first attempt at a suite, The Velourium Camper.
The one-two punch of Fear Through The Eyes of Madness and Apollo II: The Telling Truth on GAIBSIV,V1:FFTTEOM might be my favorite 15 minutes of music ever on a an album.

So do you like the older style more in general or just in terms of the suites? Personally, mine would go in the exact reverse order. I think The End Complete is best if not just for The End Complete and On the Brink. I do wish they had done another song in the style of "The Final Cut" though in The End Complete. I loved the mellow sections with the Floydian guitar solos.

I just think that 3 was the best album. All three suites were good, I just went in the order of how much I liked the albums.

pound for pound its gotta be VC!
then willing well (though part 3 was sorta weak, as it was a rehash of a song)
the new one didn't do it for me as much
and 3 is their best album!

I do like 3 quite a bit, but there's just something about the newer stuff that i like a bit more. I've actually been wondering what it would have turned out like if they had done one on Second Stage Turbine Blade, which I like but not at the same level as the others.
