I prefer Deep Purple very slightly, but i've heard more by them and am willing to be proved wrong.
Would you like to watch TV, or get between the sheets, or contemplate the silent freeway, would you like something to eat?

I couldn't possibly vote in this...just too difficult...both made an equally massive but thoroughly unique contribution to music in general and metal specifically...too hard!

^^And no-one for Deep Black Question

But seriously, for me it's Deep Purple, especially with Ian Gillan (just listen to Made In Japan, one of the best live recordings ever). Enjoyed the first two Sabbath-albums as well, but never really got into the band.

Never understood the hype around Deep Purple. They bore me. Black Sabbath all the way.
