here are some sections of reviews written about dirt jake replicas debut cd:

"overflowing with darkness and emotion... It's a tough thing to get your head around...."Bjork sings along with a mellower Tool?"...but after a few listens you realize the spectacle before you. It's fantastically original, and really makes you think about what's going on within the band itself. The tone of the album is dark, and the music has a "made for musicians" aspect to it. It is quite an accomplishment for one weeks work in a professional studio.

-Alex Romero Co-Founder of Rock Alaska Records

"The melodies and harmonies were so dramatic and haunting that I wasn't sure if I could handle it, especially if somebody else was in the room with me. Now I am familiar with the term, "Headphone Band."... This is a CD you listen to by yourself. You let the dark undertones and sad climaxes absorb you... Each song on the album becomes progressively longer and more emotional. I listened to the whole album through and if you let it, it flows in and out through each track. I started to wonder how these five strangers from all different parts of the country, could open their souls up and let the music pour out and mix together so well. Beautiful, dramatic, dark, climatic and fiery. This album will stay on my iPod, ready for me whenever I am ready for it. "

-rachele of pdx pole

" I had been at clubs watching other bands performing. The singer would give a shout out to a couple of members from Dirt Jake Replicas who were also in the crowd. The fans in the room would explode with applause. Dirt Jake Replicas? I had never heard of them, yet they drew applause even when they weren't playing. That says something...This is going to be an album where you turn up the volume and listen straight through. And if you connect with the music, you'll probably just hit repeat and let it keep running through...Dirt Jake Replicas didn't write and record this over night. And if they did, they're a package of genius. I can imagine when they are in the club and are the actual band on stage, there will be that wall of fans tied to the stage watching every move and hearing every chord progression with great intensity. The same intensity the Dirt Jake Replicas put into their album."

-sean of pacific northwest music scene

'“Mend” has a trance like sound that will put you in a hypnotic state like PINK FLOYD does....I think back of the past psychedelic era and some of the music that’s being played by DIRT JAKE REPLICAS has some similarities to that era mixed with modern day experimental sounds. "

-brian of rock eyez

"When I first saw The Dirt Jake Replicas I stood in the back, alone in a room of strangers, absorbing the sound and essence. There was no way I could have been prepared for how deeply I was affected...When I received the band's debut CD I rushed to see if the same energy was there. Consisting of 71 minutes and 7 tracks, the release pulsates with the blood, sweat, tears, and joy of the band. I was relieved to find the core that affected me so deeply was intact. It's a rare thing that a CD gets constant reply in my ears so after the 7th consecutive time running through it I knew it was special....This is not an album where the individual, songs or persons, take center stage. Just as you can't judge a great book on the basis of one chapter, you can't get the feel for any one song without hearing the rest of the disc. It flows in unison as one complete work, not giving me the option of picking a favorite song. It's a narrative with every element setting the scene or moving within it. From the opening track "Bell" to the final notes of "(Part II)" this debut effort invokes a sort of wistful melancholy, like an ironic smile at the feet of a crushing blow. At its best the disc causes me to reflect upon myself and exactly it is I am doing in this life. At its worst, I found myself in my day to day life looping pieces of songs together in my head as a sort of remixed soundtrack to my life."

-soup of crave

"dirt jake replicas are nothing if not ambitious. the eponymous debut album is sprawled across 71 minutes and seven tracks, touching on all aspects of polished, grandious rock. fans will appreciate dakota max's affected, emotive non sequiturs and the bands tight instrumentation.
