Instead of posting, "Looking for a drummer in the Timbucktu area," I figured I'd start a post where you can post your info if you're seeking local collaboration--that way we don't flood the forum with ad's for all these separate geographical areas.
Here's mine:
Area: US, Southwest Louisiana
Seeking: Any musicians interested in any type of progressive music
I play: whatever--guitar, bass, keys, drums, vocals
Experience: 10+ years, lots of garage bands, university jazz band

Good Idea!
After 20 years in CA, I'm back in the Memphis TN area. I play kybds professionally. I would be interested in RnB/jazz, electronic music, acid jazz, Dub Reggae, DrumnBass, jam band and good space rock ala Ozric Tentacles etc. Also I may be interested in a Deep Purple cover band or really good psychedelic band or progressive rock band. Send me a PM if you are interested. Edited by Easy Money - December 19 2007 at 05:53 |

If you're looking for musician's in Northern Ireland to play prog with then put a post on the www.metalireland.com Classifieds forum. You're sure to find a good few there, and not just metal heads, you'll find some pure prog peoples there too. |

I've played guitar for close to ten years, 3 of which were under the
guidance of a teacher. I have also studied music in college and played
in my school's jazz ensemble.

Here goes nothing:
Area: St. Louis, MO (also includes the Illinois area)
Seeking: Mainly at least one of each of these: guitarist, keyboardist, lyricist
I play: Primarily bass guitar, but I can fiddle with saxophone, vocals, keyboards, and mandolin
Experience: For music, 9+ years although for bass, only 2+; experience in school concert/pep band
Influences: Yes, Rush, King Crimson, Black Sabbath, Weather Report, Supertramp, Kansas, etc.
Bonus: I have perfect pitch e.g. I can pick out note names purely by listening. I can also read sheet music.
I want to promote that I am currently jamming with a drummer. He's been playing off and on his whole life, but recently has been doing extensive basement jams and sessions. He's a BIG Rush fan, but also enjoys Yes, Grand Funk Railroad, Robin Trower, The Police, etc.
I want to eventually compose/write original material, so I prefer people with at least SOME knowledge of music theory as well as ambition. Also, to be picky, it would be cool if we had at least one female instrumentalist interested. Any level of experience above beginner level is welcome.
