i have noticed that some prog albums have different album covers from my LPs:

CAROL CD 1341

 

  <--- STARLIGHT DANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kayak - see see the sun is white whit green writings and a photo of the band

gryphon - raindance has legs & shoes of a female dancer

and so on.....

The Roger Dean Octopus cover is the Uk version, the other the US. Saame as the first 2 Yes covers.

try wakeman's catalig for album covers, you'd go crazy. he sometimes has more than 4 different covers for one cd!!Confused http://web.onetel.net.uk/~ggj/recollection/rickwakeman/

I believe this is because of pirates and reeditions. we are talking (I think) of albums that were released simultaneously but with different covers in different countries.

Focus's Moving Waves, Live At The Rainbow and 3 albums sported different covers across the pond!

The original LP released by Decca had a black front cover with golden printing (band name and album title) in one corner - nothing exciting at all.
