Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. The sound may be soft or loud and unpleasant. The structures are usually the uvula and soft palate. The irregular airflow is caused by a blockage, due to causes including:

  • Throat weakness causing the throat to close during sleep
  • Mispositioned jaw, often caused by tension in muscles
  • Fat gathering in and around the throat
  • Obstruction in the nasal passageway

Snoring is known to cause sleep deprivation to both the snorer and those who hear themLOL, as well as knock-on effects: daytime drowsiness, irritability, lack of focus, decreased libido.Ouch[4] It has also been suggested that it can cause significant psychological and social damage to sufferers.

I don't snore.........

The head on the pillow next to me snores only if he is unwell, or times of stress....or he can suffer from "singers snore" (If he is working a lot he will snore) At the moment he is working a lot.......the snoring shakes the very foundations of the house.....and yes I am suffering from daytime drowsiness.........

I don't know. If I snore, it only happens when I sleep. So far I haven't gotten any complaints from my neighbours. Not that I sleep with my neighbours. I don't sleep with anyone. Cry I guess I can snore as much as I like. Smile It's just that I don't know if I snore! Cry

How can you get complaints from neighbors, for snoring?

(though that reminds me when I went to a pension in Sibiu, the walls were truly thin, I heard my piano teacher, across the next room, sleeping gently, plus a couple on the same floor did a couple of various nights: from sex to arguing...Disapprove)

Maybe if I snored really loud? Anyway, I just got a great idea: What if I made little notes that say "Please don't snore so loud or I'll have you evicted!" and put them through my neighbours' letterboxes at night?

I thought I didn't, but now it seems  I occasionally doUnhappy.. or so at least I was told by my beloved other half! Hopefully, it doesn't seem to be anything really serious so far.
