Another good band is notturna from Trieste (Italy): www.notturna.net . the site is in Italian. In the multimedia section is present a Mp3 section with good samplers and video section.
The style is an Hard Rock Prog in the vein of Asia (described like Prog Metal). The first album is good but the second is more Prog. In any case a very good band!!! Discography: (1998 Blue Tatoo Records)
Michele Rizzi: Vc, Gt, Kb Stefano Simoni: Bs
Christian Hirsch: Dr |

For some PA contributor Notturna plays a POP/ AOR ecc ecc. But it isn't true. In fact Notturna's music are Prog from attitude like other million of contmporary bands, also included in PA.
And YES, ANDREA, Notturna is a band that not impressed. But the Notturna's musical style isn't create for to remain imprinted in the mind but to create good songs.
And the second album is open by a Bonus Track: "Czardas", a song from a opera, very very Prog Metal in this version.
The main problem with Notturna is the sound: extreme light. This fact is the winning and distinctive element of Notturna respect to other similar bands. The use of normal time signature very well it can marry with the Prog. There are millions of examples.
Because today the Prog It isn't more the music of the 70's but synonymous of complicated music. Notturna's music isn't complicated but in a more general view the heavy arrangements transform this music in a good Prog music.
These are my 2 cents in defense of Notturna, a very good band.
