Topic: Prog / Emo / Somewhere in between Posted: May 06 2007 at 18:07 |
Just curious to see where fellow proggers fall. I am overall optimistic, despite having enlightenment of the many wrongs of modern society. Of course I have ups and downs, but most people do. Many people say I act unemotional, but I consider myself to be emotional, especially for a guy. I can behave very different around certain people and certain places based off my mood.

I am an extremely pessimistic idividual but not in the "emo" sence as I never cry about it rather I accept that evrything is wrong and that the human race has a near 0 capacity for understanding and kindness. I just live my life not caring that nothing is good.

I have a very pessimistic view of things that everybody I meet notices almost right away(it's my sarcasm I swear ) I'll put somewhere in between cause I do have my happy moments...just not that often.

A little bit I suppose. I've always wondered, and after seeing those test results (not specifically yours, just all of them in general), I decided to make a poll out of it. Adolescence is an awkward stage, and a lot of people go through at least one phase of depression during it. I did, but grew out of it. I should have made seperate poll options for younger members (under 18), and the rest of the members (18 or over), since I think being an adolescent has a large effect on a person's outlook on life.

Isn't emo just a marketing gimmick for 15 year olds, no-one in their 20s are part of it, apart from those silly pop singers that sing it. At my university I have not seen a single emo person, its just a teenage marketing gimmick thats dirivative of goth.

I used emo in the title as sort of a half-joke or something. Sometimes I say I'm listening to "emo" music when I'm really listening to something emotional that isn't part of the "emo" genre at all just for laughs.

actually there are older people here in colorado who are emo some are in there 30's but then they arn't really the university type, they mainly smoke weed and bang 15 year olds at skate parks. the emo thing is huge here, and has actually been around quite a while.

Usually melancholic and moody. Maybe that's just a Spring's dicease. Nothing common with Emo - I'm sure they won't endure a single A SILVER MT.ZION track I use to listen to!

I'm pessimistic but also cynical, so I wouldn't be considered emo.

I'm slightly pessimistic at times, but mostly optimistic and stress-free.

I fluctuate... right now I'm not so good, a few months back, worse, before then I was a lot better than I am now... so I'll vote in the middle.
