Topic: Blind or Deaf? Posted: April 03 2007 at 16:36 |
The tough one.
Obviously both senses are pretty useful. I'm not sure I've made up my own mind yet, but perhaps I would choose deafness. But then again...

Deaf. I could still be fairly productive and care for my family (most likely could still do my job, since most of it is at the computer).

Well I'm sorry! I don't recall coming across it at any point. Feel free to delete it at any time.

Not a problem -- popular concept.
The original:

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!' He chortled in his joy.

I'd say blind cause then there'd be no racism
and my only king would be the man with one eye
but blind would be cooler i think

Same with me, although I would go one step farther and say because then I could still listen to anything.

It would be really hard to pick out an album if you're blind... unless you can get braille vinyl or something.

If I had to lose one of those senses it would be my hearing. It would suck to not be able to hear music but I could not imagine being blind,I don't think I could adjust to that at all.

Not be able to see would be horrible, as would it be not being able to hear.
I choose Deaf.

Blind. It would suck not being able to read tabulatures, but at the same time, it would suck even more not hearing myself when I play the guitar :P

Yeah, as I said in the last poll, I'd choose deafness over blindness.
I'd hate to lose my independent mobility, the beauty of nature, the sight of my loved ones, and books (more important to me, overall, than music).
Plus, people talking in class wouldn't bug me any more!

I have a friend who is blind. He has braille labels on his CD boxes to enable him to identify them. It is remarkable watching him use the PC, he is quicker on it than I am.

Make no wonder he's your friend -- he's never seen your photo!
Judging by the near-incomprehensible quality of some of the writing we see here, I think we have more than a few blind members (minus the Braille keyboards) as well, Bob.
The deaf are well-represented here too, apparently -- have you seen some of those lists of favourite artists?
Is that "hearing impaired," or just "taste impaired?"
