Yes is my favourite band, but how many times can they play "Roundabout." I haven't been able to listen to the song for years because they've over-played it along with "I've seen all good people."

King Crimson should retire "Red" and "Larks II", but I believe they already have. It would be nice to hear them revisit some underplayed classics like "Larks I" and "One More Red Nightmare".

David Gilmour and Pink Floyd need to retire "Comfortably Numb". That song has been played to death. At least Water's solo band added some new ideas and improvisation.

And Mike Oldfield needs to retire Tubular Bells. He's been beating that dead horse for so long, there's nothing left to beat anymore.

Yeah! Don't give people what they want to hear!

Sorry, I know you're making a serious point. But I don't know of any songs I'm tired of. I tend to be careful in my listening habits.

you should consider yourselves lucky for having seen these acts so many time - if that's what you mean- and not bitch about the playlist...

here in Greece things are far worse...
prog gigs are very few...

unless you are a die-hard Maiden fan...

Can you imagine a Rolling Stones' show without "Satisfaction"?
Well, I can't figure out how I would feel if Yes do not play "Roundabout" in a concert! Of course it would be better if they add something new (e.g., a different keyboard solo), but I still find this song one of Yes's trademarks.

No matter how overplayed you might find a song I think in a "live" environment it doesn't/wouldn't matter. I'd love to see/hear Smoke On The Water being played. It's overplayed because it's a popular tune, and a good one at that.

I never seen YES, KC, PURPLE or ex-FLOYDians live. I hope I'll do it some day. And if they don't play the songs you've mentioned it won't make me happier

I haven't been to VDGG's live show in 2005 in Moscow, but I know they started from "Darkness". I'd love to see at least this one played live by them.

I pray to God Rush won't play 'Roll the Bones' this tour... they played it every tour since the album came out, enough already, leave room for songs like The Camera Eye !!!

Some bands should just take up basket weaving anyway.  Russelk made a good point though, be careful in your listening habits. There are thousands of artists out there to listen to and discover.Bands have never been so accessable with Mp3s and all kinds of specialized sites om the web.

Generally, the de facto Marillion should stay far, far away from most, if not all of the songs from the Fish era, as it just sounds... wrong, with Hogarth on the vocals. It's almost like hearing [insert high school band here] does 80s Marillion. The only exception would be Garden Party, which they play quite nicely.

Spock's Beard - no more "Waste Away" please... It's possibly the most overplayed SB song of them all, although it's still way better than what they've been able to offer recently =P

If I never hear "Smoke On The Water" or "Black Night" again it'll be too soon. I must have 30 different versions of "Smoke..." and I absolutely hate it now.

lol I'm still wondering if Harry Hood's comment about Red was a joke or not

I'm pretty sure Fripp retired all KC material from previous eras, and almost everything from Thrak too - I think they only play One Time on the Eyes Wide Open live thingy

depends what you want from Yes. if you want them to be a nostalgia show (which they are) then they should carry on pumping out their highly sterile live takes of their classic reportois for drunken rockers, but i feel sorry for Yes fans these days. Yes are now such a lifless band with no soul and i think it is highly unlikley that they will do anything surprising, daring, origional and more to the point, progressive ever again.

they should open with 'No oppertunity neccessary'. i deffinately go to see that.
