I'm sure quite a lot of you will hate the band and the music and some may even hate them enough to hate me as a person for making it so if you feel that way then tell me I'd love to hear about it!.  Let's face it a lot of the people here probably aren't going to be into metal and those who are probably are going to like the dream theatre kind of metal.

on to the music, the band is called PUKE RAINBOW (the actual name is always spelled with capitals, don't let me catch any of you guys spelling it in lowercase otherwise boy will I be chuffed), and it was created out of convenience more than anything with myself and my friend who both participated in a technical production diploma course which required us to record quite a bit of music so we formed PUKE RAINBOW.

We had an unorthodox songwriting method where we would come into the studio bare without even ideas then we would record the drums from scratch and then I'd spend about an hour or 2 coming up with guitar parts and recording them and then we'd do overdubs and synth or whatever else struck us on a whim then we'd spend about half an hour in the studio coming up with lyrics and then we'd record them and that would be one song. Due to this being done in different studios with different consoles and different instruments and different levels of skill at recording and mixing the songs are pretty diverse and range from 'chinese herbal remedy healing session chillout music', to 'black metal electro freakout'  but mostly 'light-hearted thrash with synth' with just one 'post apocalyptic sub-3 minute epic rock opera'.

The course has finished now and we have about 9 full length songs (and that one chinese herbal remedy filler song) so we've pretty much got enough for an album and after that impromptu essay which I really didn't mean to or want to write some music:

This one is called psychotropic vortex and is one of my personal favs, it's one of our later efforts and features a funky ass breakdown with some sweet synth:

This one is called acid queen and is also a later effort that I would describe as a murderous love ballad:

If by some chance anyone likes this stuff or finds it funny I can post more, in the mean time honest reviews, I posted this here because I trust guys who listen to prog to be open minded, also ask questions I like it.

That is very cool stuff. I like it a lot, but why the profanities at the beginning of psychotropic vortex?

Other then that I like it a lot and would like to hear more.

Whoah are you guys effing serious? my faith in progarchives remains steadfast - I never get positive feedback. Yeah I kept the profanities in there because that was dave the other guy swearing at me while I was talking to him through the talkback, I guess I'll remove it in the final mix.

I'll upload some more for you then:

This was the first ever song we recorded together (and it's called PUKE RAINBOW funnily enough), the riffs aren't very original or anything but it's hard to be creative with time constraints.

Dave and I recorded this one for a friend in our class and he mixed it, I must say I'm a big fan of what he's done with it, it's called love of the dead

This next one is my personal favourite, it's called deathmatch 5000, and it's an epic concept song about a dystopian future clocking in at 2 minutes 38 seconds, dave did some sweet synth and some great stuff with the effects here, if you listen closely you may hear my only ever recorded vocal performance, and yes I do sound like a vocoded toad in real life.

I hope if nothing else people appreciate the humour in our music, ANY comments welcome.
