Topic: Best Albums of 1972 from a "Well-known" Posted: February 09 2005 at 15:37 |
This is a bit of a REVISED EDITION of the poll.
PLEASE, VOTE FOR MORE THAN ONE ALBUM. I'M TRYING TO GET AS MUCH VOTES AS POSSIBLE.
BASICALLY, IF YOU LIKE THE ALBUM A LOT, THEN VOTE FOR IT. THE END RESULT WILL BE LOTS OF VOTES FOR A VARIETY OF ALBUMS.
BUT, DO NOT VOTE FOR AN ALBUM THAT YOU ALREADY VOTED FOR! VOTE!
AGAIN, VOTE FOR MORE THAN ONE ALBUM, BUT NOT THE SAME ALBUM MORE THAN ONCE.
Take care

"Fragile" was released January 4, 1972.
Lest there be speculation.

For me Close to the Edge wins it hands down, with Fragile taking a close
2nd.

What a good year. Was there a better one?
Yes, Genesis, ELP all voted for.
The proggers of that time were spoiled for choice.

My list:
- Foxtrot
- Thick as a Brick
- Close to the Edge
- Darwin!
- Trilogy
But Foxtrot is N° 1 by a mile, if it only had Supper's Ready it would have still been the best album, but if you add Can Utility and the Coastliners (The best from the album IMO), Watcher of the Skies, Horizons and Get 'em Out by Friday, you got a unique masterpiece.

Supper's Ready is just too good.

Don't have the slightest idea, because IMO Foxtrot is much better.
But honestly I just voted once when Foxtrot had 36 votes.
