I'm stuck on whether or not Moraz should take out Wakeman.

worst possible line/up±
trevor Horn / Vocals and bass Geoff Downess - keyboards Billy Sherwood / guitar Jon Anderson - percussion and drums
somehow I think it still will be interesting.

best Yes for me: Anderson, Bruford, Moraz, Howe, Squire; Eddie Offord, Producer
Worst Vox: Trevor Horn Drums: White (only because Bruford is better) Keys: Kaye Lead Guitar: Rabin Backing guitar and backing vox: Sherwood Bass: Levin, or Berlin (even though either of them might be even better than Squire, their style proved to be incompatible on ABWH) Producer: Trevor Rabin or Billy Sherwood (think Big Generator and Open your Eyes)

My Yes would be the first line-up or the third line-up, as those
line-ups produced my favourite Yes albums (Yes and Time and a Word by
the first one, and Fragile by the third one). The line-up on The Yes
Album isn't bad either (micky will be happy to hear that it finally clicked with me, and it's among my favourites now).

I think the average consensus would be the "CTTE" lineup. I mean Wakeman-Bruford-Squire-Howe-Anderson on the stage at the same time... (faints in admiration)
I love that pic of them jamming on the inside of the CTTE cover! (the remaster cd version)

The Best: Jon Anderson - lead voc. Chris Squire - bass, back. voc. Trevor Rabin - guitar, lead voc., producing Patrick Moraz - keys Bill Bruford - drums (think his early days)
.. line-up of my dreams, but killer collaboration could be also with Wakeman-Rabin-White
The Worst: Steve Howe: lead voc. Chris Squire: bass, back. voc. Billy Sherwood: guitar, keyboards Drum machine: drums

The problem with the whole idea of the "best" is that the best-trained or most versatile or skilled musicians don't always gel, or necessarily make great music. Case-and-point: Asia. That should have been the greatest prog band of all time, instead we got cowbells!
That being said, Fragile-era Yes will always be the most legendary, and the Relayer lineup a close second...

Yes indeed, I have to say the Fragile line-up was the best.
Though it would be interesting to hear Moraz on that instead of Wakeman.
Close between those two. ![Wink](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)

Now you're talkin' "Relayer," and you are right - one of the best Yes line-ups (and albums) in the whole Yes discography...
