 Topic: Pink Floyd in the top 100

Every time SEBTP surpasses CTTE in the top 100, everyone freaks out. Nobody seems to notice the competition for third that is going on between Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here. I am personally unable to decide which one I prefer, so what does everyone else think?

WYWH but only slightly better than DSOTM (which I do not think is overated in the slightest).

I agree, Dark side is overrated in extreme... If I would start a poll "most overrated album ever", my vote would be for that... WYWH, in the other side, is amazing... and, about Floyd, I don't know why so many people dislike The wall!
The "battle" for first place is also unfair.... I like other albums better in the first place, but if we have to stay with one by genesis and one by yes, I would put Close to the edge against Foxtrot, not SEBTP (another overrated album, though not as much as dark Side).....

Everything up to Division Bell is good. DB and Saucerful are decent. AMLOR is bad. I think I got all the studio albums here. If not, make a note, and I'll try to fit it in.

I agree!  Except SEBTP is still a five star album IMO, but still my second least favorite Gabriel era album after The Lamb  As for a PF list: - Ummagumma

I vote for WYWH. DSOTM, while still an excellent album, doesn't surpass WYWH, Animals, and Meddle.

I prefer DSOTM because it is more varied and moves along at a faster clip than the molasses of WYWH.
Don't get me wrong, I love WYWH. But I need to be in the right mood for the slow-moving type of material on most of it.
I don't think of DSOTM as over-rated, but it is overplayed and so mainstream that I think that sort of thing comes back to bite it, undeservedly.

...it's over-rated. I get it. I love it. I'm one of the most ardently obsessed Pink Floyd fans ever... it's over-rated. Fantastic album, but it's not the be-all-end-all of the Floyd discography.

Both albums contain Rock songs, but WYWH more than DSoTM. Doesn't matter anyway - both are Prog, and DSoTM more than WYWH.
