Topic: The Java Poll Posted: October 29 2006 at 20:24 |
Fellow proggies...I love coffee! I never drank the stuff until I got into college; but, now I absolutely love it. I either stop off at a coffee shop in the city, or brew a pot when I get into the office. Either way, I have to have it. I could do without the caffeine buzz, but I primarily drink it for the tastes. I love a good, rich cup with no sugar or cream. No flavors or anything!!!

The options are perhaps a bit limited. I prefer tea over coffe, although a nice cappucino is lovely every once in a while.

Heh??!! It's a drink. If you say that about something as harmless as coffee, and don't direct it towards drug addicts or alcoholics, then you've really got a skewed view of the world.
Sorry, but one of the most ludicrous statements I've ever read.

I voted for my my day can't start without it, but I don't drink coffee every morning. I usually only drink decaf now because I can't stand the jitters. But how I love a hot, steaming cup of coffee.

Can't stand hot drinks at all...if it's hot then I don't like it. It's a simple philosophy for a simple mind.

Coffee helps me get through my workday. I prefer it black, and I don't bother with froufrou Spendbucks-type coffee drinks.
With one exception. I like Vietnamese iced milk coffee, in a Vietnamese restaurant. They give you two glasses, one filled with ice and one with about a finger of condensed milk, and a little coffee-percolating apparatus on top. When the coffee finishes brewing, you stir it up with the condensed milk and pour it over the ice. Dee-lish.

Nah, really? Yes, I know; however, you don't see an entire wing at the Betty Ford Clinic devoted soley to caffeine. You have a few headaches here and there and then you're over it. Can you say that about heroine, nicotine, alchohol or meth? People can enjoy caffeine their entire lives and not have it shortened due to the stuff (and studies haven't shown any signs of it having a profound stress on the heart). As a matter of fact, there are advantages that coffee has on the body. Again, can you say that about nicotine, heroine, or alchohol? So, let's not even compare caffeine with all the other drugs out there. I still stand by my original post.

I've always liked it, ever since I tasted it first time as a four year old I don't drink it everyday though, but as often as I can.

I can't say I'm a fiend, but I prefer it to many drinks. Coffee is definitely better than those energy drinks.

Funny you should say that because my 3 1/2 year old daughter likes coffee. She'll even crunch on a coffee bean prior to my grinding it.
