anyway: I don't really know what "sub-part" of The Fountain Of Lamneth is my favourite. The piece itself isn't bad at all.

This release was a progressive step for Rush (though I love Fly by Night), but they still had a ways to go before they'd reach their peak, I believe, as with subsequent albums (2112 to A Farewell) they progressed greatly in terms of Prog quality.

Still, a good album.  Sadly, i haven't listened to this one in many years (some of the tuneage still seems fresh in my head like Bastille Day from this album, Lakeside Park, ... Going Bald -- yeah I've also heard these more recently on concert albums).

Anyway, even when I was a huge Rush listene (had all their 70's and 80's LPs/ motly  cassettes at one time), I don't remember the epics off this album affecting me greatly (and I loved those long epics like La Villa etc.).  My recollection is just a bit hazy on this beyond knowing that I like it.  Maybe I just didn't spin the B-side enough...

Anyway, I know that when I did listen to it (on LP), I didn't distinguish between the individual parts that much, but listened to it as a whole.

I agree, I normally listen to the whole thing. I do like "Panacea" though, especially the verse, so I'll go for that.

I really like the No One at the Bridge section. Overall, the song is probably my favourite by Rush.

This is one of my favorite Rush epics.I really like Didacts and Narpets because of the awesome drum work but if I had to pick one section I have to go for No One at the Bridge.

I couldn't pick one part; it's too hard of a decision, since that's probably one of my favorite Rush epics (favorite song on that album too) and Rush is my favorite band.

No One At The Bridge is the coolest. The solo is pretty Hackett-esque.

I rather like Bacchus Plateau. Its a breath of fresh air after the density of the previous two tracks. The chorus is one of their best, IMHO.

Love this song! It's my favorite one on Caress. I'd say my favorite part is Bacchus Plateau. I love the reprise of the big open sliding chords at the end.
