From the horse's mouth - I saw and heard it myself!

Phil Collins was interviewed on a local program in my area in NYC.  When asked about the rumors of a Genesis reunion, he indicated that the band - without Gabriel - expected to do what he called "a series of one-off concerts" in the near future.  I take that to mean that they will play single dates in major cities.  Re Gabriel, he admitted that that is a possibility, but that it would be "further in the future."  Whatever that means!

Anyway, as noted, this is from the horse's mouth, as it were.  At no point did Collins "hem or haw" in answering the question.  It seemed pretty clear from his response that Genesis (sans Gabriel) will in fact reunite for a series of concerts in the near future.

And you can bet that tickets are going to be VERY hard to come by!!!

Peace.

Thats awesome news. I hope happening pretty soon. The people will be expecting them playing the old stuff bassically, being just a few concerts won't waist time playing 80's stuff.

Good News thanks for the info

I wonder how many $$$$$$ for a ticket. Cry too much I'm sure.

The question is with or without Hackett.

If not with Hackett, honestly couldn't care less, if with Hackett would be interesting even if not perfect.

Maybe they'll play Wind & Wuthering in it's entirety? Or perhaps A Trick Of The Tail in it's entirety? Or both!

Either way, they'll probably play only material from the Pre-Trio era if Hackett's involved. I don't know how Hackett would feel playing anything after W&W. I hope he's onboard with this! I'll be sure to order tix as soon as they become available!

Thanks for the great news!

about my thoughts as well. I feel the entuziasm of the reunion only as being, at least, the trio.

Heh. How are concerts organized? Do proggers and pop-fans have different entrances or seating?

Don't be so sure. They had their biggest success with the later albums.

If Hackett joins them, it's a different story. But, I did witness a fine show from them on the "ABACAB" tour (surprising, isn't it).

If they tour without Steve Hackett, I am sure it will consist of all of their later pop music stuff.  Without Gabriel or Hackett - a waste of time.

If they are touring with Hackett and sans Gabriel - perhaps Bill Bruford will come back to do some drumming??
yet you still have time!

I doubt Bruford would even consider it, and I'm sure he's got other things going on (I could be wrong). Besides, I think Chester still played with Phil, after all these years, and they had a better chemistry together when playing on stage anyways, I thought. especially during their infamous Drum Duets.

It seemed pretty clear to me that Collins meant everyone except Gabriel - thus including Hackett.

Peace.

He mentioned that a reunion with Gabriel is possible, I'd pay a good amount of money to see that
