There are some lovely French Rhone wines, but Italians are the best. If you doubt it, try a good Barolo or Barbaresco.

I'm French (among others...) and I am for French wine, but  love Italian as well, and especially the San Giovese.

Don't really mind!!!! But I think sometimes French wine is over-priced / over-rated....so if I'm buying from the shelves of a British supermarket, then it'll probably be Italian.

Well, Andrea, I was on holidays in Italy last month - and I came home with two find boxes of Italian wine - chianti, veneto, montalcino and a fine bottle for Montepulciano.

It beats most French wines by an hair - although a Bourgundy Maranges is far from bad. In the end however, my favourite wine ever are the Spanish Rioja Gran Reservas.

LOL Why does this remind me of the episode of Chef! (Lenny Henry) about 'Du vin Anglais?'
