There are some lovely French Rhone wines, but Italians are the best. If you doubt it, try a good Barolo or Barbaresco.

I'm French (among others...) and I am for French wine, but love Italian as well, and especially the San Giovese.

Don't really mind!!!! But I think sometimes French wine is over-priced / over-rated....so if I'm buying from the shelves of a British supermarket, then it'll probably be Italian.

Well, Andrea, I was on holidays in Italy last month - and I came home with two find boxes of Italian wine - chianti, veneto, montalcino and a fine bottle for Montepulciano.
It beats most French wines by an hair - although a Bourgundy Maranges is far from bad. In the end however, my favourite wine ever are the Spanish Rioja Gran Reservas. |

Why does this remind me of the episode of Chef! (Lenny Henry) about 'Du vin Anglais?' |
