Zoot Allures has a bit of everthing for me.

I was brought up in the Hot Rats era, but I voted for Zoot Allures.

Grand Wazoo For Me. Surprised 'In New York' isn't on the list though.

I just got into Frankie boy, and so far "One size fits all" is my best experience. I'm looking forward listening to "Hot Rats"
marching on together!!

ZOOT ALLURES - my choice too. (the next 3 ones are TINSELL TOWN REBELLION, JOE'S GARAGE and SHEIK YERBOUTI). It's very "complete" and even have no filler-second!

Such tracks as TORTURE NEVER STOPS and FRIENDLY LITTLE FINGER are the real Prog-Masterpieces!

Hot Rats. Although many others would come close; Apostrophe, Joe's Garage, Lather etc. I love Zappa!

Side 2 of STUDIO TAN is probably his proggiest work.

I went for Sheik Yerbouti, the first Zappa album I bought and loved for the dazzling musicianship, the rude words and references to several obscene acts that I would not understand until some years later.

If they had been on the list, I would have gone for Make a Jazz Noise Here or You Can't Do That...vol.2 (The Helsinki Concert) on account of being a much more maturer sort of person since I growed up and became an English Teacher.

the first two are far and away the best he ever did, in
my opionion, the rest dont really excite me but parts
are very good.

1. Overnite Sensations
2. Apostrophe
3. Hot Rats

pretty much does it for me. The most of the rest are
difficult listening, i'll listen but to much torture to get
to the good parts.

I think my favourites are Weasels Ripped My Flesh and Roxy And Elsewhere.

Sadly, they are not in the list. From those that are listed, my vote goes to Uncle Meat!

I only own 1 Zappa lp...Weasels Ripped My Flesh ...and what a piece of non musical trash that was. Maybe I tackled too hard of a Zappa lp to start with.

Yes, it is one of his weirdest records, that's why I love it so much!

If you want an easy starter, try Sheik Yerbouti, You Are What You Is, or Over-Nite Sensation. Don't hesitate, because YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING!
