YES!!!!!!! A New album from our boys. I can't wait for this album.. I'm so excited. The track names are sick. In a good way. Release Date: August 15th Tracklisting: 1. A Vicarious Atonement (7:21) 2. Tetragrammaton (16:43) 3. Vermicide (4:17) 4. Meccamputecture (11:04) 5. Asilos Magdalena (6:36) 6. Vicsera Eyes (9:25) 7. Day of the Baphomets (11:58) 8. El Ciervo Vulnerado (8:59) Please note that all these times are from The Comatorium and might/might not be true. If they are the true times thats really good. Groovy. I'm kinda dissapointed they got rid of Storm. But this guy's album cover seems fine for TMV. [Jeff Jordan] And I'd like to keep this thread just for people who are anticipating this... Thanks for moving it to Press, adminos. Edited by Meddler - June 28 2006 at 13:09 |

As long as we keep talking about prog and The Mars Volta then I don't think it'll be moved. So don't drift away!
I would like too see what will they do after two brilliant albums (masterpiece[?]). They've changed their sound alot too since De-lused and that's a good thing since they'll keep alot of people scratching their heads and in suspense also. CAN'T WAIT!!! (along with the DT DVD) |

IS that the cover artwork? It looks pretty weird...And the titles are sick indeed. I couldn't help noticing the title of the first song... that "vicarious" reminds me of something else recently heard!

As they say the third's a gem, so lets hope that saying is true for TMV.
And might I add I'm pleased that this follow up to Frances has only been a year rather than the average 3+ years of many other bands. Edited by Cheesecakemouse - June 26 2006 at 02:41 |

Hmm, I hope those are the correct track times! If so, the album is 76:23 long! That sounds pretty good to me!
I can't wait for this! I believe there was a news posting about a week or so ago, but not with the album art or the track times. Thanks for sharing this! -Marc. |

holyCrap!! is this album looking to be TMV's most intense?? judging from the names, it probably will....
and that's sweet. 1's a cover of a tool song. 2's about creating words with tetris pieces 3's about that book series where rats and mice are knights and queens and stuff. 4's about the people who fix and make gundam's and evangelion's 5's about holy bee's and flies 6 is about people with eyes on their intestines 7's about a bunch of horney goat and ram head people 8's about a circus who's secrets are vulnerable mark my words. |

haha Vicariousness is the theme of modern prog this year didn't anyone tell you? TMV I love you all, but I hope they found someone brave enough to tell Omar "Look you are amazing, an amazing guitarist amazing composer, but seriously chill out, the other half of musicality is blending, yes everyone can be musical on their own but I can smash a puzzle together with a hammer too" That is all. |

There's rumors of a single being released June 28th. tbh I hope they actually don't release a single for Amputecture. "Thanks for sharing this!" No prob, Marc. Edited by Meddler - June 26 2006 at 09:25 |

I'm really excited about this new album. Of all the new prog bands, The Mars Volta are my favorite. There sound is so original and they really never fail to intrigue me. And judge from the song lengths they're not going to sell out.

I know it's not proper to pre-judge anything from a track listing...but man, that is one sweet track listing! |

So pretentious sounding, but I don't care, I still like them and will probably get the album when it comes out.
