If I ever form a band, I would like to name it Sister Andrea, after the Mahavishnu Orchestra song on From Nothingness ot Eternity. |

Really, all you have to do is make something up. When my friend and I started a band recently, we came up with a bunch of song names first, then decided on a name based on one of those song titles. |

I' m working in a project, it's a little bit prog but what i like about the music we are doing is that we are not closed in one style, we like to do whatever we want, but it has to have a nice sound, we have power metal songs, heavy metal songs, progressive, there is one that is kind of classic music, a couple of hard rock, it's not SUCH a thing but i think we have good songs... the fact is that with this "style" we put the name RANDOM, if you think, you'll release that it has many sense...
sometimes to get a name I change some leters of a word, once i took a french word i can't remember wich one and I changed a couple of letters so i get LETIC... is not too bad I think... that is a good method i guess

i actully have a list of 30 band names that are all amazing, me and my band had to like really look it through and decide what best fit us. What I do is, I always remember random words I hear and like, by the end of the week im chanting two of the words together in my mind, then i write it down, haha. |

One of my bands is debting several names. Right now, my guitarist and I seem to like "OK Captain", but "Down East" is great too.

Names seem to spring up all over the place...
I had a cellphone (Siemens I think) and the first time I ever turned it on it said "Warning: Acoustic Shock Hazard"
And I thought "Acoustic Shock Hazard" What an awesome band name.
I heard a wine connoisseur describe some vintage Chablis as "Like an angel crying on your tongue"... and I thought "Angels Tears" - Good band name
Here are a few others off the top of my head... Feel free to use 'em*:
Broken Chalice
Galeforce
Molten Bronze Profile Space
Fresnel Effect
Coil
Faded Picture
Amberfly
Ocular Memory
Nightglow
Reset
Characters in SF/Fantasy literature might be a good source of names too. Think Tolkien, or Jack Vance or something like that.
*Of course someone already might have - I didn't check

If we had named our band by collecting the first letter of each member, we would be called ARCNM or STDJT... |
