How do these two match up? I didnīt include Childhood and Script because most will vote for them.
Of these two I vote for Fugazi. In fact I think itīs the best Marillion album of all of them!

Straws...but not by much.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Fugazi - my favourite album of theirs. Clutching at Straws is also very good, though.

Difficult choice; both albums are so damn good.  I like Straws a little bit more (fuller sound, improved production and songwriting).  But Fugazi is cool too.

Dunno...Straws is more consistent...but doesn't have the line:

STAND STRAIGHT! LOOK ME IN THE EYE AND SAY GOODBYE!

Broken Heart

Straws is more consistent... but it doesn't have the line:

Where are the prophets? Where are the visionaries? Where are the poets? To breach the dawn of the sentimental mercenary.

Saying that... I still go with Straws... the opening trilogy alone is phenomenal.Tongue

"I am the producer of your nightmare and the performance has just begun!"
Fugazi is kind of wilder of the two: lyrically bold and challenging; also musically raw, unpredictable in a good way. So I vote for it, even though Clutching is also a stunning album, but a bit too "professional" in every way, compared to untamed Fugazi. These days I rate Fugazi as the 2nd best Marillion album of all time, second only to Misplaced Childhood, which will always remain my first love.
