Ohhhh... I thought you wanted to know why Yes sounded like the Pope.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Good.

By the way, glad to hear you came out OK in that whole "situation" with By-Tor.

Is the restraining order still in effect.?

Chris Squire is the man who introduced Trevor Rabin and Billy Sherwood to the band. And he was obviously happy with what they were doing in their pop years.

Just listen to Conspiracy, the band formed by Sherwood and himself. Their albums are not bad but they are 90% pop and 10% prog.

There's no only one responsable... They all agree to transform Yes into a "pop" band... I really don't like this word but... Anyway I really enjoy the albums released during these years: 90125, 9012 and BIG GENERATOR are three important pieces into Yes discography... Maybe TALK is the most bored piece of that strange line up but I still like it... Call me "pop" if you want but I think that you can find great songs on this albums...

Peace and Love...

I'm sure it's a tag-team effort (not just one person, or they'd be sacked).  Probably Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, and Trevor Rabies.  The other folks just follow along with whatever the royal leaders say.

I think Chris Squire is more responsible than anyone. He likes the early albums the most. Anderson and Howe pushed it to another level and Squire went along for the ride and I think learned a thing or two along the way.

Trevor Rabies....That's really a good one!LOLClap

Seriously speaking, I think your're quite right here. However, I voted for Rabin, as he was one of the main composers and the one who had the most experience of pop music (as opposed to prog). It's also true that he wouldn't have been able to pull it off on its own, if the other "royal leaders" hadn't been complicit.

I thought that as well. Holger Czukay used a sample of the Pope's voice on Rome Remains Rome, which is about as popish an album as you could hope to find!
