Phil Collins talked about the November meeting he had with Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford in November. It looks like they want to a Lamb Lies Down on Broadway limited tour and film it, probably next year sometime, but maybe sooner. http://media.putfile.com/Phil-Collins-On-Genesis-Reunion-18t h-April-2006

As much as the news seems...tantalizing (and I do think improbable last time this was mentioned)...I don't see this as being something even coming close to touching The Musical Box's performance of The Lamb Lies Down.
If ANYONE should be filming The Lamb live it's TMB because it's THE show from back then. Do we really need to see the Gabriel of today posing as Rael? I might be misunderstanding this, in that it's not a straight-forward re-enactment and just the songs...but honestly what for? If that's the case, just play Genesis songs, not exclusively The Lamb! If you're going to do all of The Lamb, do it right I say! Even a 're-imagining' might work...but still...anyone else feel my sentiments? |

Statement from the members of Genesis1st December 2005 In the light of current speculation about their activities, the members of the Genesis have issued the following statement through Tony Smith Personal Management: "There are no decisions by Genesis to perform anywhere whatsoever at this time. This situation will not alter in the next twelve months." |

CaincelaOreinim, yes, I share your sentiments. What a strange mixed feeling this brings about in me: I am thrilled and disappointed at the same time. If they're really going to reunite, why don't they write and record a new album too - and then tour to promote IT - since they're all so enthusiastic? They already recorded The Lamb and toured with it 3 decades ago and they also released a live version of it on Archive #1. Now they will release it as a concert film too?
Of course I will buy the DVD, but I wish that they will not reunite ONLY to play a few shows of revised Lamb. I'd be more than happy if they will continue with a new album and some carefully chosen and maybe re-arranged old songs in the live set after waking the aged Lamb that has been resting on Broadway for 31 odd years. Genesis is widely known as a progressive, not a regressive rock band. Let it maintain that spirit. Edited by An old fart |

I don't think it's that easy to just commit to writing a new album like that. The expectations, mixed with the fact that these guys haven't worked together in three decades, makes a bit unrealistic. I think it's a good idea to start with The Lamb. Get everyone back in that mode, and then see what happens. If the chemistry is still there, and they feel they can write something new together, then they will do it. If not, they'll go their separate ways again. |

Who knows for sure. I'm a bit sceptical since they've been talking about a possible reunion for years now and nothing's happened. But I'm still holding out some hope. |

It would be interesting to see The Lamb performed with players interacting with the band. For players I don't mean Cyndi Lauper or Van Morrison. It would be ncie to see it realized in a theatrical form. |

It could be cool if they don't get too many other people involved. If
marketing people try to "zazz it up," it'll look pretty sad. If the guys get together, do some jamming, and it feels good, they should take it on the road. (After enough rehearsal, of course) |

The above was also reported in the UK Record Collector Magazine Issue 320 - I quote: "Genesis made an official statement on 1 December 2005 to quash reunion rumours, noting that there would be no Genesis shows in the coming year". I would therefore assume that a tour is not on this year - we can hope that it might happen in 2007. |

The quoted "Statement" also appears in their official website, in the "News" section. I think that it could be a good idea to record and film a live version of "The Lamb...", being this album considered by many fans as their best album recorded with Peter Gabriel. It could be interesting to see it played in concert with modern technology in the sound and in the visuals used on stage. I hope that they are going to do it, even if it is going to happen in 2007. |

It would be great to see Genesis live. Sadly the tickets will probably be almost impossible to get.

. Now they will release it as a concert film too? Well it is the mother of all concept albums the most epic epic ever that has never quite had it's time in the spotlight like it deserved. It would be great if they did it.] |

If Genesis do refrom and tour with the Lamb, I dont think you would have any trouble getting tickets. It would be different if the trio reformed and released a new hit single to mark the event. That would be a huge sell out, becasue thats the Genesis that most people know and like. Fingers crossed for any kind of re-union as far as I'm concenred. Perhaps they are going to reform and are just keeping interest levels high, and keeping the discussions - like these - alive, by constantly contradicting themselves. |
