Of the latest four (Morse era) Deep Purple releases, which is your favourite?

Mine is PurpendicularClap

I haven't heard Rapture of the Deep yet, but Purpendicular is a lot better than the other two, IMO
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

PURPENDICULAR IS REALLY GOOD.I I WAS THINKING AT THE TIME ''MY GOD THIS IS AS GOOD AS THE MARK II''BUT THEM THEY CAME UP WITH TWO REALLY BAD ALBUMS.AND THEIR LAST ALBUM IS GOOD BUT DONT COME EVEN CLOSE TO PURPENDICULAR.

Not heard 'Purpendicular'- most say it's the best of the lot here. However, I really loved 'Bananas' and thought it was the most daring album they'd attempted since 'Come Taste The Band', so I voted that.

'Abandon' was good but not great, yet 'Rapture' was top notch rock and grew on me enormously. I can see why most thought it was better than 'Bananas' as it sounded like trad DP yet had the experimentation of the previous album.

I was so positively impressed when I heard Bananas that my vote goes to that effort!
Purpendicular and Rapture of the deep come just one little step lower, while Abandon in my opinion is maybe the least memorable Purple album...I gave it many tries, but I have found very few hooks worth remembering...
A flower?

I know the other albums only partially, but I've listened to "Rapture of the Deep" and I think it's very good. It's not as immediate as other DP albums, but the musicianship is outstanding as always and Gillan's voice is just incredible.

I'll need to listen to Rapture some more ... the first couple of songs on the albums are really cool. But I think that Purpendicular will remain my favorite Morse-DP album.
