I wonder how long it will take for this to reach the top 20 in the ratings? I predict the end of May, but maybe I'm biased because it's one of my top 5 favourite albums.

Anyone else care to hazard a guess?

Tony I went to see Wishbone Ash at the Glasgow Greens to see the Argus tour in1972. I was accompanied by one of the most beautiful girls on the planet at the time. She introduced me to Yes and we were all of 17 going 18 at the time. She is now a surgeon in London and for me my memories of early Ash will be of them and the stunning Angela Bowman. But to musical matters anyone who listen to Argus will instantly know they are in the presence of greatness.

Great record, I've been a big fan of them since an old boss of mine introduced them to me in college about 15 years ago.

He gets mad props as he also introduced me to Gentle Giant, Renaissance and Camel.

Thanks man!

not reach the top 100

love the album, though

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Certainly that if in England in 1972 "Argus" beat Jehtro Tull and Deep Purple...

One of my all time favourite band (as long as the Powell-Turner guitar duet was in). Saw them in concert at their very early beginning, in 1970, at the Brussels Woluwe Shopping center. (Yes there was a -brief- time when shopping malls were organizing rock concerts). The same day at the same place, I also could enjoy Pete Brown and Piblokto and a local glory, Jengiz Khan.

And by the way, did George Lucas got inspired by Argus's sleeve to create Darth Vader's helmet?

Aera(germany) first album Human est is instrumental and captures a few Wishbonish riffs but also employs much sax, flute and violin. Top album from the 70's, very underrated as was the second album Hand and Fuss.
