I'm getting a little tired of trying to remember every topic I post on and see the responses. Ok, maybe I'm getting old and a victim of Alzeimers but it still comes in handy. A lot of forums use this to where you get a notification on every 3-4 responses instead of every single one like we used to. Is that so much to ask?
Hell, the reason this feature was probably discontinued was because of the overload from the Mariah Carey and Velvet Room threads. Basically just a couple of chat rooms when there isn't one on this forum. So just open up a chat room why don't you guys? What say you? Edited by marktheshark |

Why pick on the Velvet Room thread?I thought this was a question about email notifications? Out of all the countless, pointless topics and posts that are made on this site, why are you complaining about ONE thread where people post and have fun(and never fight or argue with each other)???????? |

Ever heard of practicality? A chat room uses less bandwidth thus allowing more features like e-mail notifications. I'm not an expert on servers but at least that's what a friend of mine who runs a server tells me. |

A chat room will require a permanent chat moderator. I'm not that expert in this matter but I believe that's the way it runs.

Text takes up very little bandwith,it's as simple as that. The Streaming Media Player uses most bandwith............. |

Please don't patronize me,I am a grown man. A chat room on this site would be an absolute fiasco. Me and my friends here already chat.Used to in the IRC now we all chat on MSN. There's no need for a chat room here. |

Mark... what I do ever since they turned off email notifications is
just a search, by my Username, in all Forums. They're already sorted by
latest post. Now that I'm used to it, I actually don't mind not getting
email notifications anymore, because I would be getting 100 a day in
the "What are you listening to?" threads, etc.

You're title says "Special Collaborator at Large." Am I supposed to take it that you're Rothery-sized? |

I'll never forget the time I posted one thing in the "Mariah Carey"
thread, then checked my email ten minutes later to find like 1500 new
messages: all email notifications.
