They were recommended to me by loads of people in this forum after i asked about the most Psychedelic Prog and after reading the brilliantly indepth reveiw of 'The Hidden Step' on friday by Gatot Widayonto I finally decided to buy an album and wow! I'm not disappointed, absolutely amazing music especially listening to it on head phones a wonderful mix of psych and electronica.

Ive just ordered Jurrasic Shift too.

P.S sorry this post doesn't involve any polls or Gay references

I know I will get chastize on this site but I have balked on the idea of OT because no vocals. The reviews make the music sound interesting but I am not a guy who usually wants to hear all instrumental albums although I do own a couple but that is only because lack of choice at record stores.

Are you really a girl Petra?

Peter Rideout mentioned it in a silly poem he wrote on Silly Proghole Thread and I never knew that until today. I was just wondering. No reason.

IMHO, Ozric Tentacles' finest hour is represented by the albums 'Pungent Effulgent', 'Erpland', 'Jurassic Shift' and 'Strangeitude' - their time between late 80s and early 90s. Of all four, my one personal fave is 'Erpland', originally a double vinyl record.

Did I ever mention I once played bass for the Ozric Tentacles...?

Name-dropping?

On this forum?

With my reputation?

Has no-one thought of the consequences...

I liked Strangitude, Erpland, and Jurassic Shift the best. Excellent albums.

It was finding this forum, early this year, that prompted me to blow the dust off all my old Ozric albums and re-discover them. Glad I did

I just bought Strangitude today, and although they are very good I cant imagine listening to them on a regular basis without being "altered". Brilliant musicians, and probably best experienced live.

The Ozrics are, indeed, at their best when one is 'altered'

So I've been told..

I like the band a lot, Ozric Tentacles i foe me, the perfect mix in between rock and jazz, focusing into a prog side. The first records are by far the most "naive" and inventive, however Become the other is a great album... i think that the problem with OT is that they have changed a lot of band members throughout the years, thus, the sound may vary from one record to another. anyway, enjoy a nice peace of instrumental madness!
