Not close for me...'Octavarium' is good...a little better than 'Falling..' mostly coz of the wonderful title track.
TOT, well...it is just not good.

OCTAVARIUM: is a great album.![Smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif)
TRAIN OF THOUGHT: is not good. It's like a long jam session...![Disapprove](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley13.gif)
FALLING INTO INFINITY: has cool moments, but's not wonderful. ![Approve](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley14.gif)
Of course:
I enjoy more "IMAGE & WORDS", "AWAKE", "METROPOLIS PT. II" & "SIX DEGREES"!

I like FII a tad better than the other two. But it's a very close call.

FII is much better than both ToT and octavarium. Octavarium has the great
title track and a couple others worthy of mention but FII is great as a whole.

The last twenty-four minutes of the Octavarium album is what makes the album stand out as a whole. I think all three albums are worthy adversaries though, it's just Dream Theater with the song Octavarium have created something new to all of prog (not just progmetal). The band has proven once again they do not repeat themselves. I enjoy the entire Octavarium album too, somewhat more than Train of Thought and Falling Into Infinity. Never Enough cracks me up, it shows how much more talented Dream Theater is than Muse and that makes me laugh, then there are the two moody-ballads which bring Dream Theater out of metal entirely. The diversity is genius from a marketing standpoint, especially for touring. The track "These Walls" is so catchy, Dream Theater really should be put back on MTV (Not meant to be an insult). I honestly think the band deserves more success and more exposure than it gets due to this album in particular.
Why does Images and Words (Which got on MTV) have to succeed, and Octavarium have to fail? Not fair!

Same with me, well, I like the last 3 songs of octavarium, the others songs of the album are just regular.

Train of Thought for me. It "rocks hard" and it has some of the best jams Dream Theater has ever captured on an album. It's also the most consistent of the three. Octavarium is a lot lighter on the virtuosity, and that is something that I miss when I listen to it. Still, the songs are tight, and very enjoyable, albeit more conventional. Falling into Infinity is very inconsistent to me. There is some top-notch material, and an equal amount of average material. Not a bad album by any means, it's just not as spectacular as the majority of their catalog. I do like all three of them though.

is the question for this poll: Which album is the biggest piece of trash of these 3? because the 1st comment is correct, it should be close.

I agree, TOT is the best of these. I never liked Infinity, too striaght forward, and without the usual complexity of DT

Falling Into Infinity. It's quite an underrated album by DT. Despite of some far too commercial tendencies(like You not Me with the help of Desmond Child and Anna Lee) the whole album is quite pleasant with one my fave DT tunes Lines in the Sand. Trial of Tears is a nice track, too.

Difficult choice...
I only like a few songs from octavarium, Falling into Infinity. Train of thought is heavy, but not my taste.
I'll Vote for the song Octavarium.. Is that possible? lol
I still love Change of Seasons, Metropolis Pt2, Awake and Images and Words
