Thought this might be interesting to some - note that I'm not affiliated with or recommending this in any way.

The laws in Russia regarding distribution of copyright material are somewhat different to the rest of the world, and this site has a fairly good range of prog and other slightly more obsure stuff among the pop rubbish (I did this search on King Crimson). Most work out very cheaply - you pay about $15 per month and are capped at 1,000 tracks. Not bad, considering you can get the bitrate and encoding you want - even uncompressed CD Audio format.

Here's where I found out about it, so you can learn more - it looks good, but as ever, caveat emptor.

DISCLAIMER:

You may want to check out the laws in your country to ensure that it is legal for you to download such material...

Had any trouble with Spyware?

I never normally trust these Russian sites because I've had all sorts of Virus attacks in the past.Mind you these were software download sites.

Was it you asking about the MP3Pro plug in.Can arrange to get it to you...Wink

Just reporting what's out there

If you read the reports on The Register - a "reputable" online IT journalist site, you'll see that it has been tried with no spurious entires on credit card statements. I would also assume, given The Register's pedigree, that if it was virus-ridden they would have immediately flagged it as such. I had a browse around, and it seems remarkably pop-up free.

You're right, of course - Safe Progging also means keeping your Virus Checker up to date - I got my copy of Norton A/V for £8 on eBay

Heh! You can get anything you want through Bit Torrent...
