Are you sure it ends on an E? 
I would say it's a Beatles song because those are usually the ones that get stuck in people's heads.

Wow man, I's been over a year since I played anything on piano, (and even then the only thing I played was Stairway to Heaven) so I'm a little slow and can't play or read right

Hi!

i remember no lyrics, think it's just instrumental, it sounded like Vangelis but I have not found it within his discography. I also remember a background melody basically with scales up & down.

the last time I listened to it was over 15 or 20 years ago, so it's not a new song.
