User Art/Creations Poll

I haven't been on for awhile but some of you know that my last posts pushed a "User/Art/Creations" section of the forum where users and members of the forum could post art in any form they had created, such as

• Paintings/drawings/etc
• Poems/Lyrics/etc
• Literature in other formats
• User-posted music files (like something the user composed or a link to band websites or band mp3s for a nice praise/criticism section)
  

• Possibly even a section where we could interperet other's art (including that of prog artists...say like a thread could be posted similar to my old thread explaining the album "Frances the Mute" by The Mars Volta) --if this last thing occured we could title the section "User Creations/Interps" or something like that.

I have seen it work very well in forums before and I am fairly confident that the users on ProgArchives, or at least some of them are indeed artists of a sort and  I have also noticed that, because of our taste here, we are more prone to give acceptable amounts of praise and criticism that would enable other users to benefit from the opinion of the users on this site and help them to improve in style more frequent to the common listers/viewers/readers eyes/ears.

Personally I think it's a marvelous idea and should be considered throughly.

If you have something against this idea PLEASE let me no, and the same goes if you support it--which is the best "draw" of the idea, and are there things you like/dislike about the idea--any suggestions for the idea?

If you're not entirely sure if this idea is worth the time, or if you think a section like that would be underused, than vote "I'm not sure/possibly/etc" and tell me why you aren't sure if you have the time.

I vote YES, although I'm not an artist. I think that prog-music and plastic arts have much in common (in PA definition about progressive music there's a paragraph exclusively for this relation).

I'm stating we have a section in the forum devoted to User Art and User Creations to be posted by forum members/users and for other members to praise/criticise respectively. It would be a bit like a friendly exchange and it would be a fine addition to the archives I do believe.

I like the idea, I am an artist.

I have drawn a few covers of my favorite albums, I have got to show you my drawing of ITCOTCK, and Animals, they are so perfect.

Mirage is preety good, but I had trouble with the pyrimid in the background, the waves are what threw me off.

I'm not an artist but I'd definatly like to see what others can come up with.

it would...i'm up for a progarchgives update featuring this and the added "was this review helpful to you" and rankings to reviews...it's really improve this alrighty mighty junction

okay cool...i think we really could use this section...im just nto sure about how to call for it and bring a good amount of attention to the idea...

^^^why don't you help me by recommending the Admin most likely to do something...

it would help a lot please...i dunno exactly which Admin is the most likely to take this into serious account, and if i send i also wanna include the push for the ranked reviews ("Was this review helpful to you) to keep the best reviews up top...i'm not sure who origionally thought of this idea but i think it was s1ipp3ry...if not and you catch this let me know so i can give credit (i'm big on giving credit where credit is due) and thanks for the help beforehand.

Depends what kind of stuff is gonna be posted there and would it be connected somehow to Prog in general. (we don't wanna create some "graphic blog" or something do we?)

I would leave this open to Admins to decide, after `all it's their server space...
