Hello Everyone! I am new to this board. I LOVE Progressive Rock music and have always throughout my whole life since I was a little boy. I am a producer as well and have been producing Deep House and Disco music. Recently I have been getting into my roots and going back to the old familer sound. Here is an example of a song on my latest EP that I think maybe fits into this genre: http://www.waxrecords.com/store/getTracks.asp?albumID=1521&a mp;trackID=4505

Anyway I am pleased to be here and look forward to talking to you all.

Peace,

Walter.

Hey Groover! The basics: where do you hail from, what's your age, what sort of prog do you listen to (or what albums do you own), and what's your Social Security Number and Credit Card #?

All these things are necessary before anyone will accept you.

(okay, so the SS# and CC# is a joke: but I really do want the other info; i'm actually new to prog by half a year and i'm 15 and i live in Oklahoma [unfortunately] and my favorite prog is Yes, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Genesis, Dream Theater, and Spock's Beard. This is actually the first forum i've ever registered for, so you get used to this fast what with the emoticons and all)

Welcome to the site!

Good to be here penguindf12. Wow it is refreshing to find that someone so young can appreciate such sophisticated music. Actually I was just as young when I discovered it (I'm 36 now). I live in Louisiana and went to school here at LSU where I had a radio show on the college station KLSU and played all across the board as far as styles back in 1987. I am a big fan of Underground Disco and used to be a DJ. I have a I-Radio show on Sunday nights at 11pm central standard time on http://cyberjamz.com/live.php and archived under Walter Jones on http://tracks-online.com/livearchive/ and I am a member of the  www.deephousepage.com and http://www.cybernetic-broadcasting.net and have a bio on http://www.undergroundcommittee.com/wjones.htm and I have a couple of records on Westbound records out of Los Angeles. I have lots of vinyl records (probably 90 crates) of all kinds of music. I think that is it exept for the Credit Card number.

Tune in Sunday night because I feature a mix of Ambient,Experimental Jazz,IDM,Prog,Left Field, etc. on the Cyberjamz address listed above.

Peace,Walter.

GREAT! I thought I was the only one who liked prog in the entire South/southwest. Good to have someone else here from there. Do you know anyone in Louisiana who listens to it?

I'm not sure. The music of choice for these guys down here seems to be Drum and Bass. What state are you from?

Yea,I know. I did say maybe, though. I did get a little inspiration from Close to the Edge. I think it might be just classified as some kind of Left Field genre.

Yep,Ahz a be thankin' that Elly May might have let them thar' critters loose in the studio that ah have in muh outhouse. I knew I shoulda' not drank no moonshine when I start Pickin' an a grinin'. Yeeeeeeeeeeehaw!
