I disagree, I prefer the ELP epics like Tarkus and KarnEvil.9 to Supper's Ready. I actually prefer most of the longer compositions on Selling England by the Pound to Supper's Ready. Not to mention the Prog Metal band I prefer to Genesis. Take a wild guess who that is.

I'm not sure if Supper's Ready is the best ever, I haven't quite heard everything yet.

It's good. Very good, but I don't know if it's the best.

Fantastic song, the arpeggio at the beginning or the multi-voice part at about 10 minutes are immortal moments but it's not the best piece of prog, in my opinion.

Very, very good. Not the best, though.
The Snow Goose is the best IMO, with Mostly Autumn's The Last Bright Light a very close second. Foxtrot is top 10 by any standards.

No! SR is an great epic, but I find lot's of other Genesis tracks (and other prog band epics) to be better than it. Still an excellent track!

No. Any song is only the best untill the next one!!!!! Therefore no song is ever the best but is a favourite.

I'm far from having heard everything, of course, but in my listening, I've never heard anything that even comes close to "Gates of Delirium". It still reigns supreme in my book. "Supper's Ready" is a terrific piece, and definitely one of the best. But until I hear something else that completely blows my socks off, "Gates" is still it.

It's the best epic for me, but not the best song.

I don't know. Different songs for different moods. How can one possibly rate a song based on a monolithic scale. One has to associate moods and feelings with it.

Supper's Ready is a great song and I love it very much, but a lot of shorter Genesis songs rapes it.

Great song, but I definitely don't think it's the best song, epic or not.

One of the best songs ever by any band. Suberb music, great lyrics. It's one of the songs that may represent prog. I'd rather not declare it to my absolute favourite. There are many wonderful pieces
of music in prog.
I don't like these definitve statements like " The best of all Time".
