If you want to hear what David Gilmour played the other night at the Strat Pack concert (Marooned, Coming Back to Life, and Sorrow)... you can download the MP3s here:

Still the King!

I'm a huge Gilmour fan!

The sun has left the sky
Now you can close your eyes
Leave the world behind until tomorrow
The dream is like a song
It leads you on and on
The piper plays his tune so you must follow

I really like Gilmour, but feel kind of sorrow for him when i saw a Paul Mc Cartney concert where Gilmour played a support guitar. It Was shocking to see a monster of his kind playing the role of a session music...  Maybe that's common practice, thougth.

Even prog Gods like to take a back seat now & again - many years ago, Gilmour played as part of Pete Townsend's backing band on the 'White City' tour - dont forget, too, that Clapton was just part of Roger Waters's band on the 'pros & cons' tour.....

Must be nice occasionally not to have the limelight on you.

Whoa sweet! I'm definitely gonna have to get those. Gilmour is my all time favorite guitarist.

I'm sure he was more than pleased to play in that concert, and his performance was pretty strong, but he appair to be out of the context to me; I don't know if I'm explain well my point.

David enjoys playing as a back up musician all the time.  He's played on albums by Kate Bush, Phil Manzanera, and Alan Parson's among others... and he backs up Mica Paris and Jools Holland all the time.

Here's a picture of his time on the Who tour.. seems Roger Daltry really appreciated him...

He played second fiddle to Roger for how many years. The sound he gets out of his Fender strat astonishes me. He is a guitar player who has nothing to prove. See my review of his second solo album. He is, like myself a pilot and has a collection of fighter aircraft. Unfortunately I do not have his financial resources. Second to none guitar player and he is the main reason why Floyd continued on without Roger. Dave forever!
