Topic: Þursaflokkurinn Posted: January 05 2006 at 08:01 |
The Icelandic band Þursaflokkurinn also know as Hinn Íslenzki Þursaflokkur is for some reason listed as Pursaflokkurinn. Can the archives not handle the letter Þ?

It seems to be working, the only problem is that it's quite difficult to find now, since it's not under P or any other letter.

It's not under any letter? What do you mean? Isn't it under the letter Þ? Also their album Pursabit should be Þursabit, and the album Á Hljómleikum translates to In Concert so I highly doubt that it's a studio album even though I've never heard it. Their album Gaeti Eins Verid... should also be Gæti Eins Verið...

^ On the front page, there's the option that you can search for bands
under letter P (for example). Þursaflokkurinn used to be there, but now
the only way to find them is to write the bands name in Search here band or cd ...
But anyway, I fixed the others as well. Thanks Ofur!

Actually I understood that that particular letter should be pronounced as a "TH".

Apparently it's "th" in Anglo Saxon.

The present listing of this band as Þursaflokkurinn is unsatisfactory, as they do not appear in any of the alphabetic pages, and cannot be searched for using a standard English keyboard.
Can anyone with some knowledge of Icelandic advise on the best way to list them on an English language website? Listing them under the letter P would seem most obvious, perhaps as Pursaflokkurinn (Þursaflokkurinn )
