Does anyone know what this translates to in English?

Yo no sé...

Yo no sé, no sé, no sé...

It's Spanish, I popped it into a free translator on line so it ain't perfect.

Why do you work for all?
Why are not you here in house?
Her her, I do not know ... only I wonder
Because I am not happy in the school?
Is it that I can trust in someone that not est?
I do not know...

Is it that I can smoke when I am ma old?
Is it that I can believe in the idol that we want?
Say to me if it is just that you are not here?
To help me, I do not know, only they ask me
I do not know, do not know, do not know...

What is that, a mars Volta lyric or something?
"You want me to play what, Robert?"

It is not Portuguese, but I will give it a try...

Por qué trabajas tú por all?

Why do you work for all?

Por qué no estas aquí en casa?

Why aren't you here at home?

La la la, yo no sé... sólo me pregunto

La la la, I don't know... I just wonder.

Porque no soy feliz en la escuela?

Why I am not happy at school?

Is it that I can trust in someone that isn't... ?

Yo no sé...

I don't know...

Is it that I can smoke when I get older?

Is it that I can believe in the idol we like?

Tell me if it is fair that you are not here?

Para ayudarme, yo no sé, sólo me preguntan

To help me, I don't know, they just ask me

Yo no sé, no sé, no sé...

I don't know, don't know, don't know...

The song would be by The Soft Machine.

If youlike psychedelica and jazz-rock, then they are a must. The first three albums rule. I haven't listened to much post-Wyatt SM, but I've heard that it isn't nearly as good.

To the others, thanks for the translations!

I actually just remembered that I'd heard the side 1 of Sixth, and that was pretty sweet.

But, anyway, what's the best of the SM albums after Wyatt left?

Yeah Six is pretty good, that was the first album with Jenkins and an obvious Nucleus sound, seeing as Jenkins had just come from Nucleus.  Seven is the best of the post-Wyatt numbered albums and Softs is the best album of the Harvest years IMO.

Good deal.

I had no idea a member of Nucleus was in the Soft Machine though, I've heard a few of their songs, and they're really good!

Actually, several members of Nucleus migrated to Soft Machine (even Holdsworth was in Nucleus for Belladonna) .  Nucleus are also worth checking out, start with the debut, Elastic Rock.

*LA LA LA can be understood as Do Do Do, Da Da da, or sha na na, it's only an onomatopeyic reference to the sound made when singing whitout knowing the lyrics.

Honestly all this whinning doesn't make sense to me.

Iván

BTW: Some Other Guy, don't use online translator, all suck, if there is a mistake (and there are a lot in this two parragraphs) they simply answer any crap.

A friend of mine clued me in to something. I think that "Dada" in the title of the song refers to the Dadaist movement which took place in the early 1900s. It was basically a form of anti-art (due to the rejection of the standards of art in that time), which ironically turned out to be art in what it was trying to achieve... it was conveyed through literature (primarily poetry) and visual arts, and was characterized by nihilist views, illusion, cynism, and randomness among other things. Getting back to nihilism, I think most of the lines in the song refer to the confusion or disbelief of the presence of God, such as "Es que puedo confiar en alguien que no está?" (Can I trust in somebody that's not here?) or "Es que puedo creer en el ídolo que queremos?" (Can I believe in the idol that we love?).

So yeah, I think that's what all the whining is about.

Now it makes sense (Even when full of gramatical and structural mistakes), but again I'm sure I never understood Dadaist literature, in painting makes a bit more sense.
