I've noticed that when I read old threads, there are members knowns as Guests with -281 posts. 

Is this what happens when a member is forceably ejected, a la KE9 and Flowerchild?

how do they get negative post count? When so many of their posts are deleted that they hit negative?

"Guests" is the default for posts by members who have been evicted from the site.
