Yeah, I know there are a lot of bands out there.  I didn't mean any offense - just that most like at least one of those bands.  Enjoy the rest!

i was just going to write "oh well, go and hang
yourself, then", but, hey, that's rude. sarcasm aside,
you're very welcome to not liking them, i'm not taking
any offence
progressive rock and rural tranquility don't match. true or false?

^ good point for me!

you don't need to like all the bands to spend a good time on progarchives there are so many subgenres that can't go together!

Fair play - not liking any of the big 3 will put you in a minority here, but on the other hand I don't think many of us like all 3 of them either. I must admit I sometimes find it surprising that so many younger prog fans automatically gravitate to those bands rather than newer acts like TMV.

Just so long as you don't diss the mighty Tull, you're OK with me!

'Like so many of you
I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'

Robert Wyatt, Gloria Gloom

I think all 3 of them are great. You need to give them some patience. I didn't like Genesis at all the first time I heard them.
The crux of the biscuit is the apostrophe.

Yeah. As been said above, you should just listen more.. I started listening to prog recently (about a year), I like Yes's Close to the Edge, Relayer's The Gates.... and Fragile's Roundabout, besides that, I'm still not 'into' their other stuff..

ELP, only recently I've been enjoying Tarkus (the epic)

Genesis, SEBTP, great.. Though, haven't "got into" Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot (especially the epic there) and so on.. If I've learnt something from my prog experience, is to never dismiss bands and albums even after 50 times of hearing the same thing.. so, opening such threads is useless, prog is not all about these bands and you should give time to do his own, you don't know what awaits in the future, you might like them (even if it seems like the most unlikeable thing, like it happened to me with Tarkus)
