Well, just not enough response to keep it going, so I am going back to my previous format of generally sad music from all genres...so, if you like people like Ryan Adams, The Smiths, American Music Club, Tom Waits, Death Cab for Cutie, Iron and Wine, Joseph Arthur and yes, Porcupine Tree, feel free to tune in wednesday nights 8 to 10, est (US), would love to hear from some of you. Just in case anyone was curious, the last playlist was composed of...

Yes: Starship Trooper

Kansas: Belexes

Chris Squire: Hold Out Your Hand

King Crimson: Elephant Talk

Porcupine Tree: Hate Song

ELP: Tarkus

Alan Parsons: I, Robot

Miles Davis: John McLaughlin

Santana: Every Step of the Way

Pink Floyd: Atom Heart Mother Suite

Todd Rundgren: Eastern Intrigue

10cc: I Wanna Rule the World

Genesis: Supper's Ready

Moody Blues: The Voyage

3 songs over 20 minutes each, that is what radio can be!

We can but try ... well done for making an effort ... I admit I didn't even find out whether your station is an online one or a physical thing ... because I can't get internet radio (work blocks it, home connection is too slow) and I presume a "real" station would be in the US ...

but thanks for trying, man!

weak, man!
what kind of nazis are running that station?
Oh, well, it was good while it lasted I expect.  Though it still seems strange to me that theyre so strict about format.  how do they measure "response" anyway?

Someone here at DCA is trying to set up student radio. If they succeed then I'll badger them incessantly until they let me present a prog show.

That's a great playlist.  Keep trying, man.  Throw at least one prog song into each show.

Thanks, guys. It isn't the station's fault at all...they would let me continue to do it as long as I wanted to probably (or as long as I was at the school, anyway). I just didn't get any requests or feedback at all during the show. I have a few left, as the next quarter doesn't start until January, so hopefully, some of you will tune in, request something and tell me how I am doing!

By the way, it IS an online station, and it is at www.scadradio.org .

Tune in next week and see which other 20 minute tracks I play...or request one!

I've entered the site. How do I make a request? Do I need to do it when your show is on? Can I prepare a list  ?

Avestin, if you check the schedule, you will see the various shows. However, since my show is changing in a few weeks, it is listed as Seductive Melancholia right now. It is still the prog/fusion show for a few weeks, wednesdays, 8 to 10 pm est (US). Wow, I don't have a clue what timezone Antartica is in! You can make requests now in here, if you want, or, even better, while the show is on (through the instant messenger link at either the top of the page on the left, or the bottom left where it says 'Request a Song.' Hope to hear from you and keep warm! And, it is killing me...I know your signature, I can even sing it in my head, but can't finish the song to know what it is! I am sure I have it. Oh wait, now I know....Radiohead.

Hey guys (and gals), hope a few of you have the time to tune in tonite (wednesday, 8 to 10 pm, est in the US), it will be, I think, the next to last show of this prog/fusion show of mine before switching back to the old format. Would love to get some requests! www.scadradio.org

Sorry to hear about that. Still, your regular play list sounds inviting too so I might try and tune in.

More power to you sir for giving it a go.

Got it Avestin and I can do a bit of it...but I don't have any of your requests and I doubt the station will...I know I have one Explosions (The Earth is...)...but will do what I can!
