Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you knew of an online radio station that plays prog music?

In my country prog is never on the radio, so if I wanna hear stuff I either have to buy albums or download, but I cant download because of many reasons... I thought a radio station that's online and is dedicated to prog could be great for me and many others to find out about new bands.

Is there such thing that you know of?

Sry to steal the thunder of this thread but:

Does anyone know a non-online radio station for prog? I've been looking for one for awhile.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Shalom from America!  Manishma and what's up!  While I was in Israel at my mom's driving around in the Galilee some Curved Air and some other prog came on the radio late at night to my amazement.  I still haven't heard any prog here on the radio!  There are literally dozens of progressive rock streaming radio stations on the internet with various qualities, all the names slip my mind at the moment but aural moon was of consistently high quality when I listened to it.  If you want to get serious about online radio, I reccomend a GREAT program called StationRipper.  It searches the Shoutcast (winamp's streaming radio) directory within the program and allows you to rip the mp3s automatically and even seperates them into individual tracks for you!  Of course you can search for prog radio and just listen to it with the program as well.  Ripping these stations is legal just like taping something off the radio.  If you want the file which is free by the way, you can PM me and I'll gladly send it.  Just don't get addicted like I did and listen to it all day!

Peace

www.live365.com

Then enter progressive rock in the search box, this is the page that will come up:

http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/directory.cgi?searchdesc=prog ressive+rock

There are 142 prog stations.

Progressive Postivity,Progressive Adventures,Nightshades Prog,Cosmic Debris,70's English Progressive and ProgRock Radio are some of the good stations in that list.

The same website I recommended.

Live365..it's a website that has hundreds and hundreds of different stations.

Just search for "progressive rock",half of those stations are prog metal stations. They all describe the kinds of music they play, and list an example of the kinds of bands that you can hear on that particular station.

I'm really thankful for your help, but when you missunderstand my question, probably I asked wrong, so don't be angry...

Well, I mentioned elsewhere that I am doing a prog/jazz fusion show, but it is only two hours a week (8 to 10 pm wednesdays, est in the US) at www.scadradio.org ...wish it was more! And, if I don't get anymore of a reaction/feedback soon, I will go back to my original format, which was generally sad and mopey music.

I'll be sure to give it a try this week, presuming I remember to.
