How many times you listen a CD?

How many times you listen a Prog CD to fix all the songs in the CD?

You guys hear a little of all CD's or listen the same CD many times?

How can i remember the music of all CD's?

ditto on the like it first up - tire of it quite soon. The gems are the ones that take work. This is the very reason why progressive music could never find its way back into mainstream- attention spans are too short nowadays.

A little braggingMe also have many cd`s,so i tend to listen to it once and maybe come back to it later.I have cd`s i bought maybe ten years ago,and i`m just starting to listen to them.There is just not enough time in the world,its not like louis armstrong sings"we have all the time in the world"

I wonder if you really get much out of your listening experiences this way... You seem to consume music, literally, rather than taking the time to enjoy it and let it inside your heart and mind. Hmmm, each to their own, I suppose. I can only hope that you are able to recognise a brilliant CD, which deserves more than one listen, when you hear it for the first time!   

Most of the time if it's new music, or a new band, I need to listen to it thru headphones and late at night when I'm almost asleep. That almost-asleep time is for some strange reason where I do all my music appreciation. I couldn't for the life of me understand why Van der Graaf Generator were getting such an awesome reputation around here before. Listened to Pawn Hearts and only really liked Man-Erg for the fun schizo-ness. Then I fell asleep to Lemmings and woke up somewhere around Plague. I am now a Hammill-addict.

If it's a band I already have stuff by, then I usually like the CD already, so I can listen whle conscious and still love the crap out of it.

Anyway, once I get into a CD it constantly floats around the player until I get more new music. Then it gets shelved and loved on special occasions.

I only ever use the shuffle function on the offchance that none of the songs have to do with each other and that there are no transitions between songs, just silence from one to the next. It's good for best-ofs and compilations. It's nice to be surprised. But I can't see using it on The Wall. I tried that once and it was just too weird.

I listen to the album i get alot, and usually if they take a long time to get into, they are better and last longer.
