Topic: I Saw Paul McCartney Last Night Posted: November 09 2005 at 12:11 |
Granted, he's not prog, but it's Paul McCartney for God's sake. The show was
fantastic ... tons of Wings songs, tons of Beatles songs, and a few cuts from
his new album. Highlights (for me anyway) included Maybe I'm Amazed,
Penny Lane, Band on the Run, Jet, Live and Let Die, Helter Skelter, Blackbird,
Eleanor Rigby, The Long and Winding Road, and many more. It was a
fantastic trip down Memory Lane, and a great chance to see a rock legend
perform. If you have a chance, I suggest you catch Paul's U.S. tour ... it's a
great show.

Is Abe Laboriel jr. still on drums? He was awesome on the Back in the USA video.
Where did you see Sir Paul? I envy you...

^ Abe is indeed still on drums. He's a great drummer. We saw Paul in San
Jose, CA. He played here for two nights.

I've seen him twice in the past - always puts on a brilliant show. I hope he tours the UK soon.

Some friends of mine went to see him about a month ago and the show was amazing. He played for almost 3 hours they said.
I would have love to have saw him too but I'm too poor for concerts at the moment.

^ That's the only bad thing, MoodsWings: The cost. Seeing Sir Paul
McCartney was by no means cheap. We had good seats ... not front row, but
good seats ... and the cost was $265 each. A bit excessive to say the least,
but at least my wife and I had a chance to see him during our lives.
He did indeed play for nearly 3 hours. Yes, it was expensive, but he puts on
one hell of a show. And he did two encores, three songs each.
