I've just discovered that Faust are on the bill (as guests) at the Hammersmith Palais on Thursday November 10. Also appearing are Explosions in the Sky, Four Tet and Kid Koala.

Oh man, that would be a sweet show. I'm not sure why EITS would tour with Kid Koala, but both are great, so that's awesome .

Well, I may not be going to that gig, but I WILL be off to see Faust tonight! Support is by a group called Ecto-something. Well no, they're not called that, but their name has Ecto at the start and... you know what I mean. Anyway, should be a fun gig! I'll let you know my thoughts next week.

Looking forward to it. My wife and I are going to the show for our second wedding anniversary.
See you all down there.
Yay!

Just discovered it's sold out - !!!!!!!!!!
I'll probably head up there and see if there are any returns - it's an excellent line up and I don't know if I'll get the chance to see Faust again.

Just a quick note to say that last night's gig was fab. Utterly fab. The support - Ectogram, as I finally discovered they were called - sucked like a big sucky thing with suckers on its sucky bits, but Faust were just incredible. Great atmos, great performance and above all - GREAT MUSIC. I'll be writing this gig and Friday's VDGG one into a special feature for the delayed (sorry) 1st edition of the PA newsletter. Hope you manage to get in, Syz! Byeb for now!

Both Faust & Explosions were excelent.
Never seen Explosions before but have been listening to they stuff for
a while and i thought they were better than I expected. At the end of a
few of they tracks they literary on the floor.
I'm not sure what most of the crowd who were there to see Four Tet made of Faust
epsecially when Jean-Hervé Péron unvelied his IRONING BOARD and Zappi W. Diermaier pluged in his angle grinder this was like watching Test. Dept or Einsturzende neubauten in they hayday.
Though most of thier set was more standard fair. Not as way out of when i saw them do the Nosferatu soundtrack a while ago.
All in all a great night, Kid Koala wasn't that bad either
unfortunately I couldn't stick around for Four Tet as I had to get back
to the otherside of London but I saw the acts I was interested in and
left very happy

Agreed - like you Krusty I had to leave before Four Tet came on but Faust were amazing - and a massive bonus for me was the guest appearance of ex Henry Cow sax/flute player Geoff Leigh. I picked up a T Shirt and CD from the stall in the lobby and got the CD signed by both Jean Herve Peron and Zappi Diemaier. EITS put on a remarkably good show, even if they did seem to be doing the Status Quo formation dance routine some of the time. As for Kid Koala - some interesting sounds, but seeing a bloke playing some records was a bit tame after Faust's pyrotchnics.
