This is a woderful album by Jon Anderson and it is his first and best solo effort.

A wonderful album which gets five stars from me. Unfortunately Jon Anderson's other solo work is nothing but crap. As to the songs: I see the album as a whole and don't subdivide it into songs, so I won't vote in this poll.

It's an ethereal album, though I think there are a few instruments played by Jon.

It is certainly not only ethereal, and there are drums and guitar, but not as they appear within a Yes context.

I wouldn't say it's all crap, but Olias is by far the best of his solo albums.

I used to like the album in the seventies. Today I would not give it 5 stars. I find it finally not very interesting and VERY pretentious the bad way classical prog ended. Could be one of the valid excuses used by the punks to sh.. on progressive music (with ELP Works). But agree, still much better than what JA did solo afterwards.

Olias is Jon's most progressive work but to say the rest of his albums are crap is indicating a dislike for Jon's output.
Song of seven is worth buying for the title track alone. And yes there ares ome weak songs on that disc.
The title track of animation is worth the price of admission too, a beautiful tale of Birth.
Change we must is essential,Chagall duet is truly outstanding on that album.
City of Angels is a decent album and probably one your wives/girlfriends will like which is a great entry point to get them used to Yes later.
Toltec is worth 3 stars and is a likeable concept album
And there are more none of which are 4 or 5 star albums but are good if you like the softer side of yes. Probably best to stay away if you mostly like prog metal

This album alone demonstrates Anderson's genius, and of course he transferred between the new dimensions few comprehended or still do for that matter! This was his moment, no other solo came close except perhaps Short Stories' collaboration with Vangelis. I exclude his Yes work in this comparison. Olias.....see you on the other side

Exactly what I would have said if you hadn't got there first. I'm not quite so dismissive of his other solo albums, but I think it's fair to say that he's never come close to equalling Olias as a solo artist.

A great album, I can go as far as to call it a masterpiece.
Solid space is easily my favourite song in here (followed by Moon Ra). I just love that synth line.

It's really funny album. I never ever would have believed that I would have liked it even a one bit. But when I heard it changed my mind in matter of minutes.
