From your last thread, you mentioned prog died in 1979. So this could prove futile.

Wippy Bonstack
The Aristocrats (2011)
Polyphia
Eyeless Owl
Nova Collective
Richard Henshall
Ok Goodnight
Owane
Zopp
Monobody

what I met that prog died! I am referring that most banda after 1979 are trying to sound like old bands, except metal prog bands!!! But I will check those bands!!! And by the way by saying that, I am not saying that I don’t love prog bands from 1980 to now!!!

In the vast Dominion of modern prog, Zopp are one of the best places to start in an A-Z list of excellent Canterbury Scene bands, leaving Caravan trailing behind in their wake. Smile

A struggle to find bands that only exist in that time frame:
Zopp (2 great albums recalling Canterbury scene)
Isobar (instrumenatl band with 3 excellent albums)
Hackberry (heaviish prog with 2 excellent albums)
All Traps On Earth (only one album but it's a masterpiece)
The Chronicles Of Father Robin (one off project of 3 albums that are part of a saga)
Caligonaut (again only one album so far)
eMolecule (one album)
Slift (i've only heard the recent album Ilion but it's superb metal meets pysche stuff)

If we are talking any bands that released albums in that time frame then the list is massive!
I love Big Big Train and they have just come back with a strong album after the passing of Dave Longdon. He has been replaced by Alberto Bravin (from PFM) but their sound hasn't changed that much.
Of course there are all the Norwegian and Swedish bands that have put out loads of great albums in recent years. Check out Wobbler, Elephant 9, Motopsycho especially.

I second Ok Goodnight. Their last album was fantastic, mixing beautiful with extremely heavy moments with spectacular sophistication.

Also:

Ephemeral (only 1 album): Funky/symphonic prog with female vocalist. Love the bass guitar chops and the production of their first (and only album so far)
AVKRVST: Has similar textures to Opeth, Porcupine Tree and Riverside. They have only one album but it is very well produced.
Dreadnought (first album 2013): Alcest + Opeth with female vocals. Love their last album.
Agusa (first album 2014): Instrumental band with flute and organ, sounds very classy (70'ish) and beautiful with small bits of psychodelia.
Crown Lands: duet very Rush-like, vocalist voice is like a mix a Geddy Lee + Ozzy + Robert Plant haha Their songs do have some really strong melodies imo.
Oiapok (only 1 album): Jazzy prog with beautiful harps and xylophone, unique textures.
District 97 (first album 2010): Nice heavy prog band with distinct keyboard+guitar riffs and unusual melodies and progressions. Vocalist is awesome as well.

It would be helpful if the OP would stay active in these posts, so if the suggestions are not their thing, we could suggest something different.

As it appears, the OP has left the thread.

For this topic I don't think active contribution of the OP is needed. It's rather general interest I'd say.
