Hi! 


Can anyone help identify this song?


I got this from a magnetic tape my mother must have recorded in the early 70s. Whether it was recorded from the radio or vinyl is unknown. Sorry for the bad quality, the recording was made on a cheap Grundig 4-track machine and the tape is probably 50 years old. Since she was from Germany, it might be some obscure krautrock.

Nothing so far with song identifiers. I find most of the lyrics unintelligible. The beginning sounds like "too damn clean is your bright suburban scene", then "where you are, thoughts don't ever go too far".

The style reminds to Eloy in their "Uriah Heep" period, very early 70s

Definitely some sax 2 minutes in so that rules out a lot of bands (inc Eloy). Very nice melodic chilled vibe. Sadly no idea who it is.

I agree, there's some early Eloy in it, both vocal and melody.

Solved! It's "The Song of Dying" by Doldinger's Motherhood. It's krautrock from 1970.
