Paranoid closely followed by Madcap Laughs and Fun House, followed by Abraxas and John Barleycorn.

Barrett just ahead of Sabbath. This was a good year for swimming through semicolons and putting vintage toasters on shelves.

While I was tempted to vote for John Barleycorn Must Die, the Bridge Over Troubled Water album is one of those decade-defining albums that truly transcends its era to become "timeless".

Paul wrote that he knows what I'm going to vote for here, but I'll surprise him and vote for Bridge Over Troubled Water. (In fact it may have to do with Soft Machine already having collected four votes. Could also have voted for Traffic, Santana, Nick Drake, George Harrison, even Cat Stevens. Tight affair this one.)

You're absolutely right! Knowing your eclectic tastes in music, I was pretty sure you'd vote for Soft Machine in this poll.
