    Posted: June 26 2023 at 08:09
It's Seasons End with the end of spring and the official beginning of summer on another swelteringly hot day here in England where the Radiation from the sun is intense today. I'm not Afraid of Sunlight, but it's always wise to cover up and wear a hat when going out in this hot and humid weather, although I draw the line at wearing an anorak - not that I suffer from Anoraknophobia, or is that a F.E.A.R. of spiders? Anyway, the Clock's Already Ticking and I don't have Somewhere Else to be today, so it's time again to gather round with Friends and Family for yet another Top 7 albums poll and this time it's the turn of Marillion. It's embarrassing to admit this, but I was a relative latecomer to the wonderful music of Marillion (The Gold standard of Neo Prog) having spent a Misplaced Childhood listening to Popular Music on the radio such as Glam Rock, and later New Wave/Synth Pop when I should have been listening to Prog Rock instead, or is that all just Smoke and Mirrors? I've decided to be Brave by offering my alternative Top 7 too, as we go Tumbling Down the Years through Marillion's long discography, although admittedly, I'd be Clutching at Straws if I expected anyone to agree with my Top 7. Never F.E.A.R. though, I'm not losing my Marbles. Not just yet anyway. Tongue

Simply list your Top 7 Marillion albums in order of preference below and then I'll assign the usual system of points to your listings:-

1st album - 12 points
2nd album - 8 points
3rd album - 6 points
4th album - 4 points
5th album - 3 points
6th album - 2 points
7th album - 1 point

Here's my Top 7 to get the poll underway:-

1. A Monstrously Festive(al) Christmas (12 points)
2. All One Tonight: Live at the Royal Albert Hall (8 points)
3. With Friends from the Orchestra (6 points)
4. With Friends at St. David's (4 points)
5. Brave (3 points)
6. Afraid of Sunlight (2 points)
7. Script for a Jester's Tear (1 point)

prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer

I know what you mean. I could just as easily have listed my Top 7 in reverse order. At least then it would have made more sense. Tongue
