Several combinations and permutations of the work of four young guys from New York/New Jersey are really hitting on all cylinders.

They are:
Matt Stober
Ben Coniguliaro
Quinn Coniguliaro
Alex Verbickas

When Matt's in the driver's seat, the band is called IN-DREAMVIEW

When they're playing the music of Quinn Coniguliaro, they call themselves EYELESS OWL

Without Matt, the trio call themselves SUN-COLORED CHAIR

According to Mira, when Ben and Quinn were first collaborating they did a couple of albums under the name of MUD MOTHS. (Thanks, Mira!!)

When Ben and Quinn are collaborating equally and in an Avant/RIO mood, they call themselves WYXZ (with Alex and Matt contributing and iNFiNiEN/CETUS/JOHN ZORN guitarist Matt Hollenberg and John Zorn producing).

And then there's Ben's solo project, WIPPY BONSTACK

Matt has also done some collaborative work with Zappa, Pat Metheny, & Mahavishnu Orchestra tribute artist (and host of ProgCast podcaster) drummer Gregg Bendian.

In interviews the guys love to talk about all things prog as well as their worship of Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Gentle Giant, Andy Partridge/XTC, Mike Keneally, John Zorn, etc. They are definitely leaders taking prog to new heights.

Definitely some music that hardcore progheads should check out (if you haven't already).

^The last Wippy release, "22", is one of the finest albums in decades. The music is fresh, imaginative, catchy, and is taking music to new heights. Definitely hear the Keneally influence. Hard to believe how talented the multi-instrumentalist Ben is.

I have heard In-Dreamview and like them also. Time to check out their other three projects.

Thanks for giving these four guys the props they deserve!

I've been paying attention to them for a few years now; fascinating musicians, all of them. You forgot the duo Mud Moths that Ben and Quinn formed before founding Wyxz, which made two indie rock albums and one truly great RIO/math rock album that sounds completely different: http://mudmoths.bandcamp.com/album/e

Thanks, Mira! I'd heard of the band/albums but never sought them out/found them.

P.S. Mira: How did you find them? Discogs has nothing relating to such a band and Bandcamp shows nothing about band member/musician information except on Lepy Däptra on which "bc" and "qc" are cited as the musicians.

I originally found both Wyxz and Mud Moths by searching the "avant-prog" tag on Bandcamp, but I didn't make the connection between the two until I saw the latter's Progarchives page which says that the musicians are in fact two brothers called Ben and Quinn C. who live in New York. Ben's own RateYourMusic page confirms that he was/is a member of both bands: http://rateyourmusic.com/list/delicatefugates/a-comprehensive-guide-to-my-projects/

I've been a big of fan of all the output of the Coniguliaro brothers and their associates, especially Wyxz and Sun-Colored Chair.
